TRAGEDY Strikes As Nigerian Prophet Is Shot DEAD During Church Service

Tragedy struck in the Odo Eran, Idiroko area of Ogun State on Sunday as a 54-year-old prophet, Yomi Adetula, was gruesomely murdered during a church service. The shocking incident occurred at the Celestial Church of Christ, Eagle Parish, at about 10:30 am.

According to eyewitnesses, three armed men stormed the church, brought out a long double-barrel gun, and shot the prophet at close range. To ensure he was dead, the attackers further mangled his head with an axe. Worshippers and community members were left in horror at the heinous act, which turned a sacred place into a crime scene.

Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident, revealing that the prophet’s lifeless body was discovered lying in a pool of blood, with his white Celestial garment stained red. “His body was riddled with bullets, and his head was severely damaged. The attackers escaped toward the border area after committing the crime,” Odutola said.

The Divisional Police Officer in Idiroko ensured that the victim’s body was promptly moved to the General Hospital morgue in Ilaro. Meanwhile, investigations have been launched, and efforts are underway to apprehend the culprits responsible for this disturbing act.

The killing has left many in shock, raising questions about the safety of places of worship in Nigeria. Worshippers and locals have expressed their fears, urging authorities to strengthen security in religious spaces.
