The disturbing video captured the moment Nwadigo slapped little Abayomi Michael during what appeared to be a classroom session. Responding to the incident, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency confirmed Nwadigo’s arrest, stating that an investigation had commenced to ensure justice is served.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the management of Christ-Mitots International School described the event as a “troubling incident” that goes against the institution’s core values of respect, care, and dignity. The school emphasized its zero-tolerance policy toward misconduct and announced Nwadigo’s indefinite suspension pending the outcome of a thorough investigation. The management also extended a public apology to the affected child and his family, expressing regret for the traumatic experience and pledging their full support.

In a bid to prevent future occurrences, the school revealed plans to implement comprehensive child protection measures. These include mandatory training sessions for all teachers to reinforce positive disciplinary practices and child protection protocols. Additionally, a confidential whistle-blowing system will be introduced to encourage prompt reporting of inappropriate behavior.
